The business, which is headquartered in Stanley, County Durham and has a base in Nottingham, has approx 100 staff.

As a sign of its commitment to its staff, Hodgson Sayers was the first construction company in the North East – and only the second in the UK – to sign up to the National Living Wage. It is also a previous winner of the British Chamber of Commerce company of the year award.

Contract manager, Gary Bottomley, has returned back to the North East having worked at Avonside Roofing in Yorkshire, he said: “Having lived in the Midlands and Yorkshire for a number of years, I wanted to move back to the region and Hodgson Sayers has proved the perfect fit.

“The company has a family feel to it, everyone is welcoming and there is immediate assistance if you need advice or support. I am currently working on a number of projects, including one in Nottingham with Nottingham City Homes and also repair and maintenance work to an old police station in Northallerton.

“The opportunity to work at Hodgson Sayers was too good to miss, as was the chance to move back to the region.

John Sayers, managing director at Hodgson Sayers, said: “We welcome our new colleagues, each brings a special skillset to their individual roles. In Gary’s case, we are pleased to bring North East talent back to the region as we build a strong team that offers great experience, problem-solving and customer focus.”
