We evaluate all business outputs, our carbon footprint, CO2 emissions and set ourselves measurable targets year-on-year to ensure that we continually decrease the impact of business activities on the environment.
This forms part of a number of key initiatives which will be delivered throughout 2016. For example, we are replacing company cars with electric hybrids and, as part of our energy saving, we have installed smart meters on water, gas and electricity usage which will allow us to measure our performance. We actively look to reduce our impact on the environment and part of our drive to do this has been via our installation of solar photovoltaics within our own headquarters.
To oversee the new implementations we have welcomed environmental manager, James Rolt, who will also be looking at our waste production figures with a view to rolling out a measureable reduction in our waste output – a big focus for us in the year ahead.
Our environmental strategy plus the introduction of BIM to enable us to plan the projects prior to commencement, identify efficiencies and minimise material procurement and reduce waste outputs, will ensure that Hodgson Sayers become leaders within the sector for our environmental management.
In line with our commitment to the environment we are ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Certified.
