Darlington social housing

The team was appointed by Darlington Council to strip and cover the roofs of 18 houses spread across three streets.

A team of 12 worked on the project including three slater/tiler apprentices – David Crank, Bailey Goyns and Ben Seaward.

Objectives:

  • The existing concrete roof had been in place for over 30 years and had reached the end of its lifespan.
  • Dilapidation surveys completed prior to work commencing
  • The roofs were replaced with concrete tiling to bring them up to modern standards but retain original aesthetics. Fascias, soffits and rainwater goods were also replaced.
  • The team worked alongside the client resident liaison officer to keep people up to date with progress

Customer feedback

The project was delivered efficiently with interactive feedback from the tenants to assist with the overall success of the scheme.
