Through a tender process, the company was appointed to carry out flat roofing to Dame Dorothy Primary School.
The six week project took place during the summer holidays to avoid disruption to the teaching schedule. A team of seven people worked on the project including one apprentice.
Sunderland City Council has invested significant funding to numerous primary schools within the city with new roofing, equipment and electrics.
- Eight sections of the roof needed to be replaced. The old roofing system had come to the end of its life and needed a full replacement.
- The new structure consisted of an overlay coating and an underlay which are fully insulated. A mineralised capsheet was also used to create a water-tight surface.
Improved thermal performance of the new roof covering will contribute to providing a more sustainable and efficient building
