civil works for the utilities sector

Hodgson Sayers, following the successful completion of a number of projects was appointed to undertake civil works at various locations across the North of England including York, Sheffield, Leeds and South Tyneside for a client operating within the utilities sector.

Each project was typically 10-12 weeks in total. Other work taking place included demolition, installation of temporary and permanent parking and laydown areas, new access roads and general support for the delivery of future works on each site.

Objectives
• To increase and improve the infrastructure providing more capacity for equipment on the various sites to meet current and future demands.
• Civil works for new substations on existing sites. The scope of such work included excavation, piling, drainage alterations, flood mitigation, installation of new access routes, building alterations, core drilling, reinstatement and associated work.
• All works to be completed on schedule ready for the premanufactured kiosk to be delivered and installed via a 70 tonne crane.
